Obituary for Laurie Jo Campagna

Laurie Jo Campagna passed away unexpectedly at her home in Chalfont, PA on Wednesday December 7, 2016 at the age of 55. She is the daughter of Shirley Stackhouse Milnor and the late L. Taylor Milnor. Laurie is survived by her beloved husband Peter Campagna and her three sons: Taylor Steele of Chalfont, PA and his fiancé Rachel Huggins of Alexandria, VA, Brian and Connor Steele, both of Chalfont, PA as well as their father James Steele of Ottsville, PA. Laurie is also survived by her two sisters: Jane Milnor-Smith, her husband Kevin Smith of Wrightstown, PA, Patricia Oyer of Newtown, PA and her dear Aunt Joan Ratcliffe of Langhorne, PA.

Laurie is a graduate of Council Rock High School class of 1979 where she played three varsity sports, field hockey, basketball and softball. She is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University and received a Masters degree from Bloomsburg University. She retired from Council Rock School District after a long teaching career at Sol Feinstone Elementary School in Upper Makefield, PA and Hillcrest Elementary in Holland, PA.

Laurie was one of the founding members of The Newtown Arts Company and starred in many of their productions. She also was a member of the Bucks County Singers. Laurie is a past-President of the Central Bucks West Football Parents Club and also was very active in all her son's athletic activities even coaching her son Taylor's baseball team.

She loved spending time at the Campagna home on Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos.

Laurie is survived by stepsons: Matthew, Steven and Michael Campagna and step-granddaughter Natalie Campagna. She will be sadly missed by her faithful companion ,a chocolate lab Tori. Laurie is also survived by four cousins, the Ratcliffe brothers, a niece, Michelle O'Neill (Chris), and two nephews, Matthew Oyer (Halley) and Troy Smith.

The family will be greeting friends and relatives at the Newtown United Methodist Church, 35 Liberty Street, Newtown, PA from 11am to 12 noon on Saturday December 17, 2016. A memorial service at the church will follow at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929 or the Bucks County SPCA, P.O. Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.
