Obituary for Leo C. Boylan

October 7, 1934 - September 11, 2017
| Age 82

Leo C. Boylan passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on September 11, 2017 at age 82. Born in Philadelphia on October 7, 1934, Leo was the son of the late James and Marie Boylan (nee Donnelly). He resided in Plymouth Meeting with his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary A. Boylan (nee Brettle).

Leo was the loving father of Theresa Boylan (the late Francis McGoldrick), Leo Boylan, Jr. (Annette), Kelly Boylan, Margaret Pierce (Brandyn Rice) and Thomas Hagen (Margaret Catagnus). He was the cherished grandfather of Ryan Boylan, Tyler Boylan, Sean Pierce, Brian Pierce, Sydney Rice, Madeline Rice, Richard Hagen, Joshua Hagen and Rebecca Hagen and great grandfather of three. Leo was the dear brother of Paul Boylan, Joseph Boylan and Anne Brooks.
After graduating high school, Leo attended trade school for carpentry and later went on to serve in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. After being honorably discharged from the military, Leo worked for Altman as a carpenter and was a 50 year member of continuous service for the Carpenters Union Local 122.

Leo was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, rooting for the Flyers, Phillies and Eagles. He was also a devoted Penn State and Notre Dame fan. When he wasn't rooting for his favorite teams, he often watched Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He enjoyed helping his family and friends with projects and they affectionately nick-named him "MacGyver". Above all, Leo enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be missed by many, especially his friends who he met at Dunkin Donuts every morning.
