Obituary for Leonard "Len" Cline, Sr.

July 1, 2021
Warrington, Pennsylvania

Leonard (Len) Cline Sr., age 78, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by his family on July 1, 2021, from a brain aneurysm.

On June 14, 1943, Len was born in Abington, Pennsylvania, to Raymond and Nora Cline, the youngest of 4 (deceased) Raymond Jr., Josephine (Sr. Raymond Mary) and Dorothy Lange.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Janet (Bilbee) and his 6 children: Len Jr. (Shelly), Christina Fuges (Steve), Janet, Debbie Casperson (George III), Michael (Shannon), Stephen (Laura) and his 16 grandchildren: Lenny, Ethan, Zachary, Gabriel, Hannah, Margaret, Evelyn, Loghan, Annalyse, Jess, George IV, Emerson, Elliot, Elizabeth, Ezra and Eleanor.

He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty in 1961 and earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from Penn State University. He is an Air National Guard vet. He worked at United Engineers, Stokes Vacuum and Johnson & March.

Faith was most important to Len. He lived it! He taught his children faith by his example. As a devout Catholic, he was an active parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine for 42 years. He served as a member of the pastoral council, the Pre-Cana team and teen encounter retreats, and lead bible studies and volunteered his time at the annual Physically Challenged picnic. He was also a lector, extraordinary minister and a weekday altar server. Closest to his heart was the protection of the unborn. For 41 years, Len and Jan organized the annual parish March for Life bus trip to Washington D.C., which was only one aspect of his commitment to the movement. Together they sold prolife roses at church, lead prayer vigils at abortion clinics, and served as treasurer of the Bucks County Prolife Coalition. His respect for life even extended beyond his death when he chose to have his tissue donated through the Gift of Life Program.

Right from the start, he wanted a big family with Jan, which has become his legacy. He was dedicated to his work only to support his family and give them everything they needed. He was a wonderful father and an even better dad. Len's favorite family times included Sunday breakfasts, Christmas light drives, amusement parks, historical day trips, swim club visits, summer vacations, wood-splitting weekends, picnics and parks, miniature golf, dinners out, Christmas caroling, trick or treating, sports and arts activities from football to musicals.

A viewing will be held on Friday, July 9, from 9:30-11am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11am at St. Robert Bellarmine (856 Euclid Ave, Warrington, PA). Burial to take place at Saint John Neumann Cemetery (3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, PA 18914).
