Obituary

Longtime Bucks County resident Marcia Feeney, 85, died this weekend at Pickering Manor in Newtown. Marcia was born on Long Island, New York and grew up in Brattleboro, Vermont. She attended Emerson College in Boston and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Drama. Later, she attended Ohio State University where she earned a Master's degree in Speech Pathology.

After her graduation from Emerson College, she married Richard Feeney (deceased). The couple had six children: Linda Feeney of Falls Township, Richard Feeney of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Theresa Feeney Bird (deceased), James Feeney of Levittown, Denise Feeney of Levittown, and Sandra Feeney (deceased). In addition to her children, she is survived by her brother A. Stephen Farrington (Carol) of Brattleboro, Vermont, her sister-in-law Betty Jones of Claremont, New Hampshire, her grandson Ray Feeney of Levittown, and her great-granddaughter, Lily Feeney.

As a speech pathologist, she touched the lives of many people. She worked with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit providing speech therapy to students in several Bucks County public schools helping them to overcome speech and communication problems. As an independent consultant, she worked with private clients and stroke patients in local convalescent homes. She helped hundreds to find their speech again.

After her retirement, one of her most satisfying accomplishments was the publication of a children's book titled The Easter that Almost Wasn't. In addition to writing the story, she also drew the illustrations.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects during visiting hours on Friday, June 16, 10 am to noon, at the Swartz‐Givnish Funeral Home, 323 E. Washington Ave., Newtown, PA. A memorial service will follow the visiting hours, beginning at noon.
