Obituary

Martha Terhune Ditcher "Marty", 65 of Langhorne passed away on June 28, 2019. Beloved wife of 42 years to Scott A. Ditcher. Loving mother of Jordan R. Ditcher and Elisabeth M. Ditcher (Joshua Tidwell). Dear sister of Philip Terhune (Dot).

Marty was born on March 26, 1954 in Freemont, OH to the late Alan and Vonelle (Mayers) Terhune. She attended East Stroudsburg University where she received a BS in Education and also met the love of her life Scott A. Ditcher. They were married on September 25, 1976 and moved to Bel Air, MD for a short time before moving to Stewartstown, PA where they began coaching girl's gymnastics. They relocated to Sarasota, FL for 9 years, where they had their two daughters, before finally settling in Langhorne, PA in 1989 where Marty continued coaching girl's gymnastics until 2002.

Marty was a long time member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and served on numerous committees. She also held various roles in clubs there such as the director of the English Handbell Choir, singing in the Chancel Choir and participating in Shared Meal ministry. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles and watching football games. She was always passionate about decorating for the seasons.

Through her interest in Genealogy she traced her family back to 1750's and the Ditcher's to the 1780's. Through this research she was able to trace and document her ancestor's service in the American Revolution. And became a Daughter of the American Revolution. She then documented a second ancestor which enabled her daughters, Jordan and Lissy, to become DAR members as well.
