Mary A. Serafine (nee Ciaccio) of East Norriton passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 2, 2018. She was born in Norristown on November 5, 1928 to the late Benjamin and Josephine (nee Mussolino).

Mary married the love of her life, Henry V. Serafine on May 24, 1953. She was Henry's devoted wife of 48 years before his passing in 2001.

She attended Norristown schools and went on to work for Lansdale Tube as a supervisor, Stamark, Barbone's, CertainTeed Corp., and Paragon Services.

Mary was the loving mother of Marianne Schmalbach (Bob) and Patrice Hagert (Gordy), doting grandmother of Robert Schmalbach Jr. (Sarah), Jessica Schmalbach, Joseph Houseal (Cara), Timothy Bracken (Rosaria), Kayla Bracken (Michael Sarnese, fiancé), Emma Bracken, Henry Cautin, great grandmother to Bennett and Spencer Schmalbach and Hunter and Henry Houseal, cherished sister to Frank (Hank Cisco) Ciaccio, Margaret Leszcynski (Stanley), and sister-in-law to Roseanne Fulmer (nee Serafine), aunt to many, and friend to all.

Mary was welcomed into heaven by her parents, dear husband, and siblings Anthony (Tony Cisco) Ciaccio, Joseph Ciaccio, James Cisco, Frances Iacono, and Helen DeStefano.

She will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, love of cooking, talent for singing, but most of all how much she adored her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mary's Life Celebration on Monday May 7 from 7PM to 9PM and again Tuesday May 8 from 8AM to 9AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10AM at Sacred Heart Church of Bridgeport, 120 Jefferson St. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park of Plymouth Meeting.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory can be made to the Missionaries Sisters of Charity at 630 DeKalb St, Norristown, PA 19401.
