Mary Ann Simons, of Norristown, passed away on December 26th 2017 at the age of 91. Born on August 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Emma (Pataky) Campbell. She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School and Chestnut Hill College, with an honors degree in Physics. In her early years, she drove a school bus for St. Francis of Assisi School. She went on to become a client service representative for Smith Kline Clinical Labs. Mary was a past president of the West Norriton Lioness Club, and a member of the AVA Walking Club, in the division of the Liberty Bell Wanderers. She was also a member of the Norristown Bocce Club. In addition to her other memberships, she was also a member of the Cursillo Club. Mary was a walking enthusiast, and has walked in almost all 50 states. Mary was an avid Phillies fan, and threw the first pitch on her 80th birthday at a Reading Phillies game. She loved watching her grandchildren's football and baseball games, and enjoyed volunteering at the Montgomery Hospital. Mary had a passion for baking, sewing, and knitting. She will be missed dearly by all.

Mary leaves behind her children Joseph Simons, Daniel Simons (Anna), Mary Kathryn Simons, Steven Simons (Frances), John Simons Sr. (Michelle), and Kevin Simons (Tara). Her surviving grandchildren are Anthony Byrnes, John Simons Jr., Chris Simons, Justin Simons, Aiden Simons, and Emily Simons. She is survived by her siblings Henry Campbell and Olga Gallagher. Mary was predeceased by her husband James F. Simons, her son Michael Simons, and her daughter Lt. Patty Simons. She was predeceased by her sisters Constance Wolper (Dan), Joan Campbell, Robin Campbell, Genevieve Wolper, and Raymond Campbell Jr.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life on Friday, January 5th from 10 – 11:15 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St. in Norristown, with her Funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery immediately following.
