Obituary

Maryann A. Falcone, of Philadelphia, passed away into God's loving care on Sunday morning, September 1, 2019 at her residence. She was 86 years old. Maryann was born on January 20, 1933 to the late Joseph and Catherine (née Warburton) Root in Philadelphia. She was the wife to Anthony J. Falcone, Sr. with whom she is survived by and together they shared 64 years of marriage. Maryann attended grade school at Ascension of Our Lord Church and then graduated from Nazareth Academy. She did clerical and processing work for the Internal Revenue Service in Philadelphia and then the Navy Depot until her retirement. In her free time, Maryann enjoyed traveling to the Jersey shore, especially in LBI where she enjoyed fishing and watching sunsets there. She also enjoyed playing online games, especially Solitaire, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband Anthony, Maryann is survived by her children; Joanne M. Tomaszewski (the late Richard), Terri McDowell (Charles J. McDowell, Jr.), Anthony J. Falcone, Jr. (Debbie) and predeceased by her son, Thomas J. Falcone, Sr. She is survived by her grandchildren; Thomas J. Falcone, Jr. (Joanne), Lauren C. Johnson (Christopher), Stephen A. Tomaszewski, Charles J. McDowell III (fiancé Erica), Eric A. McDowell, Chelsea L. McDowell, Justin A. Falcone, Nicholas F. Falcone and her two great grandsons, Charles J. McDowell IV and Anthony J. Falcone. Maryann was predeceased by her sister, Janet Wiseman

Relatives and friends are invited to Maryann's Life Celebration on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church of St. Jerome, 8100 Colfax St. Philadelphia, PA 19114 followed by her memorial mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. (please arrive by 8:45 a.m.).
