Obituary

Maryann McClister (nee Stanford), passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021. She was 83 years young.

Maryann was born on October 27, 1938, in Somerville, NJ to the late Leland Elton and Margaret Mary Stanford. She moved to Bucks County in 1955. After school, she began a long-standing career as a nurse's aide until her retirement. In 1976, she met the love of her life, Stanley. They married in 1984 and resided in Upper Makefield, where they continued to raise their family.

The family was everything to Maryann…she loved hosting parties, cooking, and baking. Her specialty was her cheesecakes! Stanley and she were travel fanatics. They succeeded in vacationing in all 50 states and loved to cruise the seas. In her spare time, there was never a yard sale Maryann didn't love to visit…she was always looking for hidden treasures. But above all else, Maryann will be remembered as a devoted wife and doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family came above all else.

Maryann is survived by her husband of 37 years, Stanley, and her seven loving children – Donald Yates (Wendy), Maryann Curanzy (Raymond), Kenneth Yates (Caron), Steven Yates (Maureen), Leslie McClister, Sharon McClister-Visnesky, and Thomas McClister. She was the loving grandmom to 20: Kimberly, Dale, Rebecca, Nicole, Taylor, Meghaan, Joshua, Justin, Deanna, Christopher, Jason, Michael, Alex, Zachary, Harrison, Katie, Stacey, Jenna, Nicholas, and Emily, and great-grandmother to 13. She was also the beloved sister of Kathleen Spencer. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Ricky McClister, and her siblings Bud, Teddy, Michael, Dennis, Leroy, and John Stanford, Marge Butt, and Betty Murray.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 10:00 am to noon at the Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, 323 E. Washington Avenue, Newtown, PA 18940 followed by Maryann's Life Celebration service immediately afterward.
