Michael T. Maurer, 69, entered into rest surrounded by his loving family on Saturday January 21, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Brown) Maurer. He was the beloved husband of Ann E. (McDevitt) Maurer.

Michael proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. While in the service he received numerous commendations which include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Rifle Expert Badge. In his civilian life he was a bartender working at numerous places such as Stokes Ale House in Philadelphia and Harrah's in Atlantic City. Michael most recently worked as a cab driver for Brigantine Taxi. Michael was a member of the Brigantine American Legion, Elks and VFW. He was also a member of Light House Soccer and St. Georges Breakfast Club.

Michael will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife; Ann Maurer, sons; Edward Maurer, Jeff Maurer companion of Christine Moriarty, Joseph Maurer, Daniel Maurer husband of Kat, Brian Maurer companion of Tabitha Chapman, grandchildren; Brianna Warren, Zoelle Bleazard, Sean Maurer, sister; Barbara Bergey, friend Don Hannaford widower of Jan, and a host of nieces and nephews and many in-laws.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael's Life Celebration Memorial Service on Thursday January 26, 2017 at 12 Noon at Keates-Plum Funeral Home, 3112 Brigantine Ave., Brigantine, NJ. A receiving will be held at the funeral home from 10:00am until time of services.
