Obituary

Paul J. McCarthy passed away peacefully on April 29, 2017 at age 86. Born on July 7, 1930 in Philadelphia, Paul was the son of Sadie (Haley) and Paul J. McCarthy. He resided in Blue Bell with his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia "Pat" (Brennan) McCarthy. Paul and Pat lived in Blue Bell for 56 years where they raised their family.

Paul was the loving father of Bernie McCarthy (Robin), Robert McCarthy, Patrick McCarthy (Theresa), Mary Ann Cowperthwait (Ted), Colleen Quittner (Rob) and Katy Lampmann (Steve). He was the cherished grandfather and great grandfather of many adoring children. He is survived by his brother Tom McCarthy (Barbara) and was preceded in death by his sister Mary Craig.

Paul, as a young man, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where he and Pat were married. He attended St. Joseph's Prep and Villanova University. Paul proudly served Our Country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Paul sold textbooks for the Charles Merrill Publishing Co. His faith was very important to him and he was a member of St. Helena Church for many years. Paul enjoyed the friendship of his many neighbors and cocktail hour on the patio with Pat. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed his Sea Isle City vacations. Most of all, Paul's life revolved around his family who adored him and will miss him dearly.
