Paul Bridenbaugh was born in 1936 and spent an ideal childhood growing up in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. He graduated from Point Pleasant High School as Valedictorian with high honors having been class president for his junior and senior years. Paul went on to Rutgers University with a full 4 year scholarship and after graduating in 1958 from the College of Engineering, as a Ceramic Engineer, he went to work at AT&T Bell Labs as a Materials Scientist. After 35 years with Bell Labs, he continued his career with Coherent Crystal Asssociates in East Hanover, NJ and finally with a start up company, Crystal Genesis.

Paul spent his 48 year career doing cutting edge and extensive research and development in crystal growth for use in lasers, solar electrical generation, light manipulation, sonar applications and medical imaging. He worked extensively with piezo-electric crystal development. His research resulted in the development of a number of published patents.
He also authored and co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed scientific articles in leading scientific journals. Paul was a member of the American Crystal Growth Society and a Member of Kermos (Ceramic Honor Society).

Paul was a strong born-again Christian with solid faith in Jesus Christ as His Savior and Lord and he went to Him gently and softly in the early evening of June 26th. Paul was a devoted family man and father of 3 daughters, Dawn Thompson (Mike), Robin Cairl (Ian) and Lori Bass (Kevin) and 1 step-son Anthony Hunt. His first marriage was to Joan Burrows and he is survived by his 2nd wife of 25 years, Patricia. They have been graced with 11 grandchildren from both marriages, Heather, Holly, Hannah, Katelyn, Ashley, Zachary, Emma, Sara, Taylor, Vanyel and Damien. He is also survived by his sister Jane and niece Amy and nephew Steven as well as a grandniece Siana and a grandnephew Liam.

He, along with his wife Patricia, is a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Buckingham, PA. Family and friends are invited to Paul's Life Celebration, from 6-8PM Monday and from 9-10AM Tuesday at Leaver/Cable of Buckingham, 4886 York Road, followed by his Funeral Service 11AM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2622 Durham Road, Buckingham. Interment will follow at Mechanicsville Cemetery.
