Robert G. Olson, 97, of Newtown, PA died on March 28, 2022 at the Birches of Newtown. Born in Boston, MA, Bob was a resident of Newtown for over 65 years.
Bob is a graduate of Bentley College and a Veteran of World War II serving in the US Navy. He is a retired Business Manager from IBM after 40 years of service. Bob was a long time member of the Newtown Exchange Club and the Newtown Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder, a Trustee, and Sunday School teacher. He was a former Newtown Twp. Supervisor, serving for 8 years. He was a long-standing member of the Masons. Bob enjoyed playing tennis and golf, attending/watching baseball games and watching all his girls', grandkids', and great grandkids' athletic activities. He was a loyal visitor to Goodnoe's for their Chocolate ice cream. He enjoyed traveling to the beach and Lake Okeechobee. Bob was devoted to his wife, daughters, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his church.
Bob is the son of the late Guy and Ethel Olson and the loving husband of 75 years to Hope Davis Olson. He was the devoted father to Donna and her husband, Gary Kaucher, Deborah and her husband, Norm Sam, and Diane and her husband, Mark Klein. He is the proud grandfather of Curt Kaucher (Nicole), Heidi Richard (Brian), Kristy Brown (Matt), Robyn Gift (Shane), the late Aaron Sam, Jessica Klein, Andrew Klein and Cori Klein and the great great grandfather of 12. Bob is also the brother of the late Shirley Poore and survived by his other brothers and sister, Earle Olson, Richard Olson, and Jean Williamson and many nieces and nephews.
Bob's Memorial service will be held on Monday June 20 at 10:30 AM at the Newtown Presbyterian Church, 25 N. Chancellor Street Newtown, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the church 9:30 to service time Interment with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to the Historic Presbyterian Church preservation fund, 25 N. Chancellor St. Newtown, PA 18940.
