Obituary

Landis,
Robert (Bob) M. Landis, 77, of Philadelphia passed away at his home on June 5, 2017. Beloved husband of 53 years to Rita (Kurylak) Landis, by whom he is survived. Robert also leaves behind three sons Mark (Allison), William (Christy), and Joseph (Amy); as well as eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Throughout his life Bob had a passion for cooking. Through his hard work he turned his passion into a living as the proud owner of three sandwich shops. Bob began with Charlie's Place in Germantown, moving to his namesake Bob's Luncheonette on Caster Ave, and finally Lando's Steaks and Pizza on the Oxford Circle. Dad always enjoyed a good steak, no cheese!

Bob was a quiet man until someone mentioned one of his two personal favorites: a good Phillies game, or his cars. Bob can be remembered wearing his matching Phillies cap and T-shirt whenever possible, and never missing a game. Upon the mention of cars Bob would recall one of his many GTO's, or in his words, his "goat."

He made the best of the difficulties caused by diabetes, missing some things due to blindness. Nonetheless he would get around like he was all seeing and made shopping look like a breeze. He showed everyone his perseverance, heart, and desire, and fought a good fight!!

We miss you dearly, God bless.
