Obituary

Romuald "Ronnie" Arsenault – of Northfield, passed away peacefully at the age of 93, on Monday October 3, 2016.

Born and raised in the Peninsula of Gaspe in Saint Charles Caplan, Canada, Ronnie was the fourth oldest of nine children. He served in the Canadian Army for four years in the Artillery Division during World War II and was honorably discharged. He moved to Atlantic City NJ. in 1954, and became a U.S. Citizen in 1955. He worked all over the state of New Jersey as a Union Electrician until he retired in 1987.

As well as an IBEW Union Member for 65 years, he was also the acting electrician and Board Member for the Yacht Club of Pleasantville, and a member of the Moose Lodge 216 of Atlantic City and the American Legion.

Fishing and boating were Ronnie's passion. He participated in many tournaments, including the Midlantic 500.

Ronnie was the beloved husband for 25 years to the late Catherine Toy Arsenault. He is survived by his sister, Blanche Gugiette, of Toronto, his children, Rene Arsenault (Ginette), Nicole Arsenault (Marc), of Quebec, Kathleen Rodi (Dominic), Ann Marie Kooperman (Stephen) and John Larry Toy (deceased) He had 8 grandchildren, Etienne, ( Melanie) , Beniot, Donna (Dan), Christine, Steven, Cheryl (Rob), Kelly (Travis), and Daniel. He also had 10 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Kelsey, Benjamin, Abby, Taylor, Vincent, Julia, Ava, Carter, and Delphine.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marie ange-Begin and Laurette Arsenault, his 4 brothers, Laurenzo, Donat, Gervais, and Hector.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ronnie's Life Celebration and viewing on Thursday October 6, 2016 from 7 to 9pm at the Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home, 228 Infield Ave. Northfield. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10am at St Gianna Parish-St Bernadette Church, 1421 New Road Northfield. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Donnie Row organization for children with cancer, c/o John Glassey, 100 Bay Avenue, Pleasantville, NJ 08232.
