Ron De Camp Sr., 83, passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family on May 31, 2018.

Ron met his wife, Jackie, while they were working as ballroom dancers in the ballrooms of Atlantic City in the late 1950s. Soon after starting a family, Ron and his father became partners in Mainland Marine Basin, a full-service marina on the Margate Boulevard. After running the marina for 21 years, Ron and Jackie bought a Bed & Breakfast in Jackson, New Hampshire.

In 1986, they sold their inn, in the White Mountains, and returned to the Jersey shore. Ron went back to work in the marina business until he was 82, when he finally agreed to retire.

Ron was a loving husband, a caring father, a hard worker, and a truly gentle man. He provided a wonderful childhood for his children; working as a family at the marina, skiing in New Hampshire, always putting family first.

Ron and Jackie worked on renovating and decorating many homes. Visitors to their current home were always given a tour of his train room. Trains were his passion and he created an elaborate display with the help of his wife Jackie.

Ron and Jackie have three children, Ron Jr., Tracy (Mike Collins), and Robin (Tony Veloso). They have eight grandchildren, Mike Jr., Ryan, Chris, Mandy, Will, Kate, Eric, and Sara. They also have two great-grandchildren, Carter and Kyla.

Ron will be missed greatly by his entire family. Jackie has often said, they were ordinary people who lived an extraordinary life.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Wabash Avenue, Linwood, NJ. Visitation will be followed immediately by a funeral mass at 11:00.
