Obituary

Petti, Rosemary Grace - 88, of Mays Landing quietly and joyously entered the gates of heaven on April 8th, 2018. Rosemary was born in Gary, Indiana; she moved to Vineland as an infant and lived there throughout her early life. She attended Sacred Heart High school, where she met the love of her life; August Petti. They were married in 1954 and started a loving life together. Rosemary devoted her entire life to God and her family. In the 1960's, she gave of her time to Saint Rose Of Lima Catholic Church in Newfield, NJ, where she attended to the priests and worked as a secretary. She handed out hot lunches to the children in school and was an intricate part of the parish. In 1968, she and her family moved to Brigantine, NJ, where she continued her vocation to the church. In the early 1970's, she volunteered to help with the Parish of Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church. She later took a job there where she worked for almost 30 years. After retiring in June of 2003, she and her late husband August moved to Mays Landing, N.J. where they retired. It is fitting that her middle name was Grace; for she was truly a giving soul to others and exhibited "grace" and class to the people in need and to all others to whom she touched. Mom was known for her holiday dinners and great Italian cooking. Many people young and old entered her home to eat and experience her true family tradition. Mom loved feeding everyone and always smiled whenever she could help others. She was selfless throughout her life and gave all of herself to others. She will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered.

She is predeceased by her mother and Father, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Perella, her brother Anthony Jr. and her late husband August J. Petti, who passed away in 2014. She is survived by her children Matthew of Phoenix, AZ, Mark (Maryellen) of Mays Landing, John (Beth) of Milton, Georgia, August (Jennifer) of Egg Harbor Township, and Maria and Sal (Fratanduono) of Brigantine, her grandchildren Darren and Sophia.

Our family is grateful to the devoted personnel at Our Lady's Residence Multi- Care Center and Holy Redeemer Hospice; both whom treated mom with such dignity and respect; especially during her final moments of life.

A Mass of the Christian burial will be held at Saint Thomas Church, 331 8th St. South, Brigantine NJ at 11:00 AM on Wednesday April 11, 2018. A viewing will be held at the church (prior to the mass) from 9: 30 AM – 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing, N.J.
