Obituary

In Loving Memory

Roy Kahn, 89, of Spring Lake, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in the Bronx, NY, on April 20, 1932, to the late Louis and Ida Rachael (Grossman) Kahn.

Roy was an avid, lifelong New York Giants Football fan, and if you were a member of his clan, you were too! He also had strong interests in photography, art, and gardening.

Having led a distinguished multi-disciplinary business career, he ultimately retired from the Washington Gas Light Company while living in Virginia. Despite his considerable professional accomplishments, he was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He never tired of sharing his knowledge, experience, and encouragement. His wise and loving counsel will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Roy and his wife, Loretta, retired to Spring Lake where they enjoyed spending time by the ocean, exploring New Jersey, traveling to Italy and Arizona, as well as being near family. He was honored to accept an appointment from the Spring Lake Mayor and Council to join the Finance, Water & Sewer, and Cable TV Committees, serving from 1999 - 2005. Wherever he lived, Roy sported a New York state of mind: he lived in the passing lane, always moving ahead, and was proud of his Bronx perspectives.

He leaves behind four children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, a son and his family,Steven and Betsy Kahn,

Julie (Kahn) and Sean Olmstead, their son Miles, their daughter Brooke
