Obituary

Russell Helsley, 78 of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, was called home to be with The Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2017. His passing was peaceful with his family by his side.

Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Dora, and his siblings Dolores, Lucetta, Charles, Walter, Ellen, and Constance. He will be remembered by his remaining siblings, John, Wilma, Linda, Judy, Donna, Paulette, Donald, and Jacqueline, as an honorable man and great brother.

He was devoted to his wife, Bonita and children, Russell (Cheryl), Rebecca (William), and Robert (Sarah). His legacy will continue through his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jonathan (Tiffany), Andrew, Benjamin, Joshua, Noah, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Skylar, Krystal, and Lane.

A bronze star recipient, Russell retired from the US Army, sergeant first class, after 20 years of honorable service. Following his service he was a loyal employee for France compressor products and Pennsbury school district. He was a faithful member and decon of his church.

Russell was a gentle man of God, who loved unconditionally. He was humble and gave of himself whole heartily. Those who had the privilege to know him, know that summarizing the life of this truly wonderful man is not easy.

His strength and compassion have helped so many. He was an honest and respected leader and role model. His work on earth was done. He will be greatly missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to, First Baptist Church of Bristol AWANA clubs, Bucks County Special Olympics or the Tullytown Fire Department.

Family and friends are invited to Russ' Life Celebration, from 4-7pm, Friday, March 24th at the First Baptist Church of Bristol, 6139 Bristol Emilie Road, Levittown, PA, and to participate in his Memorial Service at 4pm. Interment will be held privately, with military honors, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Life Celebration services provided by Beck/Givnish of Levittown.
