HAMILTON

Thomas A. Hamilton Jr., of Cheltenham, on August 18th, passed away at the age of 72. He was born in Philadelphia, son of Constance and the late Thomas A. Hamilton Sr. As a youth, he sold newspapers and pretzels in the Fishtown area. He graduated in 1964, the 222nd graduating class, from Central High School of Philadelphia. In 1965 he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the USS Ingraham as a Radioman 3rd class. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Following his time in the Navy he worked for Radio Shack, where he met his future wife, Carol. He was a retired Civil Engineer who had worked for the City of Philadelphia, Ambric Technology Corporation of Darby, and CUH2A. He was a dedicated philatelist and numismatist. He enjoyed American history, playing chess, crossword puzzles, Tom was the devoted husband of the late Carol A. for 39 wonderful years. He was the loving father of Nicole A. (Corey) Hamilton - Richardson, Victoria A. (Chris) Hamilton - Mattie, Rebecca A. (Matthew) Hamilton - Gilmore, Douglas A (Jenn) Hamilton, and Stephen A. (Sarah) Hamilton. He will be sadly missed by his 12 grandchildren; Julian, Christopher, Bryan, Carolynn, Cristina, CJ, Shanice, Shayla, Derek, Alex, TJ, and Baby Hamilton; his 5 great grandchildren Jayden, Jessenia, Eliani, Ariana, and Ava; his sisters Eileen and Valerie; his brother Joseph; and by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Gregory.

Relatives and friends are invited to Tom's Life Celebration on Monday, August 26th from 5 to 7 pm at the Dean-Geitner-Givnish Life Celebration Home (7900 Oxford Ave., Phila. 19111). His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 27th at 10:30am; at the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, 205 Huntingdon Pike Rockledge, PA 19046. His Interment will be private.
