Virginia B. (nee Rieger) Vansant, of Pylesville, Md., passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the age of 92

Virginia B. (nee Rieger) Vansant, of Pylesville, Md., passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019, at the age of 92.  Former longtime Langhorne resident, Virginia was born to the late Albert and Louise Hertel Rieger on January 6. 1927.  She was a life member of Langhorne United Methodist Church and former member of Fawn United Methodist Church.  She was actively involved in both churches throughout her lifetime singing in the choir, visiting shut-ins, and participating in Women's Society, leading Friendship Circle and many other church activities. Virginia was vibrant and full of life and enjoyed many creative hobbies and interests such as writing stories and poetry, painting, baking, gardening, knitting, sewing and making outfits for American Girl Dolls.  She loved playing games such as dominos and pinochle and spent many hours doing so with her family and friends.  Music was her passion.  She loved to hear her daughters and other family members sing together.  Even as her life declined from Dementia and it became difficult for her to remember and converse, she could sing every song we would sing with her.  She will always be remembered for her amazing wittiness and sense of humor.  She left a trail of joy wherever she went.

Family was her greatest treasure.  Virginia is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, William C. Vansant, her grandsons, Jeffrey and Steven Heston, and her siblings, Albert, Ethel and Irene. She is survived by her adoring daughters, Barbara (Richard) Heston, Carol (Charles Jr.) McIlhenny, Aimee O'Neill, and Beth Anne (Jeffrey) Sharpe, her cherished grandchildren, Cindy (Josh), Sara (Matt), William (Jess), Jane (Dave), Grace, Danny, Colin, Alaina, Timothy (Katelyn), Leah, Amanda and Megan, and 11 Great Grandchildren.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to Virginia's Life Celebration on Friday, October 18, from 10:30 - 12 PM, followed by her Funeral Service at 12 PM Noon at the Langhorne United Methodist Church, 301 E. Maple Ave., Langhorne, Pa.  19047.  Private Interment will follow.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Langhorne United Methodist Church at 301 E.
