Virginia "Ginny" DeCristofano (nee Kennedy), of North Hills, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the age of 58. Beloved wife of Michael DeCristofano; loving mother of Dianna Fishgall (Kevin), Michael (Stefania), Alex, and Luke; cherished grandmother of Kevin and Mikenzie; caring daughter of Donald Kennedy and the late Dolores (nee Lafferty); loving sister of Donald Kennedy (Jane) and loving aunt of Jack Kennedy.

Ginny was born in Philadelphia. She grew up in the mount airy neighborhood and attended Henry H. Houston elementary. She then attended Philadelphia High School for Girls for 3 years and then graduated from Roxborough Alternative High School(Wiggle).  She was Miss Popular growing up with more friends then she could keep track of and everyone knew her name. She moved into the Olney neighborhood and that is where she met her husband Mike. They were married June 27, 1987. They had their first child Dianna followed by Michael.  The family moved to Glenside in 1995 and then they had Alex and Luke.  Ginny loved watching all of her children during their sports games...especially hockey.  She loved hockey so much she was nominated by the Philadelphia Flyers and won the hockey mom of the month award.  She had 2 beautiful grand children Kevin and Mikenzie. Ginny loved to vacation and travel. She traveled to many states along the east coast with her son's hockey teams. The family would vacation every summer in Outer Banks, North Carolina where she would lay on the beach and enjoy the sun all day long.  She loved children so much she worked in the childcare field and even ran a camp out of her home.  She touched many lives and she was an amazing person who will be truly missed by all her family and friends forever! 

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Ginny's Life Celebration on Thursday, August 1, 2019 beginning at 9:00AM followed by her funeral service at 12:00PM Noon. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to your charity of choice in Ginny's memory would be greatly appreciated.
