Obituary

William "Bill" Hobbs, 56, of Yardley, PA died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Chandler Hall Hospice with his loving family by his side. Born in Bristol, PA, Bill was a lifelong resident of Newtown and Yardley.

Bill is a graduate of Council Rock High School, Class of 1979 and he attended Rutgers University. He spent his professional career in food service working for US Foods, SYSCO and Shoprite of Yardley. His greatest passion was food. His most treasured times were spent with family and friends, centered around a good meal, eclectic music and a fine cigar. He enjoyed fishing, boating, coaching his daughters soccer teams and a good concert. His love of ice hockey started in high school and continued into adult pick up leagues. Bill was a proud and active member of Defiance Lodge #335, Knights of Pythias, Newtown.
Bill is the son of the late William and Rose Brown Hobbs, brother of the late Carol Ann, the devoted husband to his loving wife of 30 years, Diane Stoumpas Hobbs and the proud father of Alexa and Elizabeth Hobbs. He is the brother of Lynn (Jim) Wysor, Kathy (Dave) O'Donnell and Missy (Kevin) Lenahan and the beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bill's Life Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 from 4-6 PM at the Swartz Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave, Newtown and on Sunday, November 26 after 3 PM to his Knights of Pythias service at 3:30 PM followed by a time of Life Celebration at Yardley Friends Meeting, 65 North Main Street, Yardley, PA.

Contributions in Bill's name may be made to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
