William "Bill" "UB" Thomas Adam of Philadelphia, Pa and Colchester, VT; 79, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the University of Vermont Medical Center On Thursday, November 30, 2017.

Bill was born in Philadelphia, Pa on Friday, May 13, 1938 to the Late Joseph F. and Gladys F. (nee Symmonds) Adam.

Bill attended school in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. He enlisted in the NAVY in 1955 and served on the USS Yorktown CV-10 in the Pacific. Bill loved his time serving on the aircraft carrier and counting the shooting stars while at sea. As much as he loved the sea, when he met Barbara Ann Bussinger (Barbie) at the St. Joseph's dance she became the love of his life. They were married in June of 1960.

He worked at Coca-Cola for 32 years as a route driver. After retiring from Coca-Cola, he drove a school bus for Klein services. He also worked for Davis Paper Dimensions making deliveries and working at the bindery.

Bill loved to be on the road interacting with customers, golf, astronomy, and enjoyed his music, especially classical and seeing the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra perform. As much as he enjoyed these things, his biggest joy was his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Frederick Davis, Jr., his brother Carl Adam, his sister and her husband Janice and Paul Tossona, and his brother Joseph Adam. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Barbara, his daughters and sons-in-law Linda (nee Adam) and John Goodman, and Susan (nee Adam) and Stephen Kobryn; his 3 grandchildren from Susan and Stephen: Jessica Schwartz (Jeremy), Jennifer Witter (Christopher), and Stephen Kobryn (Tricia Barrell), and 2 grandchildren from Linda and John: Kyle Goodman (Jennifer), and Ethan Goodman (Randi Leigh Rutherford); his 8 great-grandchildren; siblings Margret Godfrey (Tim), and Stephen Adam (Maureen), Sisters-in-law Bettyann Davis, Joyce Adam, and Faye Adam; many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Bill's family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and medical team of Baird 4 at the University of Vermont Medical Center for their outstanding and compassionate care of Bill and his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bill's Life Celebration at Craft-Givnish of Abington, 1801 Old York Rd, Abington, Pa 19001, on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 9-10AM, followed by his funeral service at 10:30 AM, interment to immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, Pa.
