Obituary

Yvonne Lewis passed away peaceful at home surrounded with family on July 2nd, 2020. She was born to Dorothy and William Smith in Troy, New York and shortly there after returned to Philadelphia, Pa where for her 70 years were packed with family, friends and love. She grew up in the West Oaklane section of the city on Weidner Place with her 5 brothers and sisters Patricia, Pamela, Ronald, Lionel and Kevin. She attended Pennel Elementary, Onley high school and Temple University there after. She met Wiliam Lewis and they gave birth to 2 girls Kim and Heather whom she raised at home for several years. She later worked at Cheltenham nursing home and was passionate about learning and educating herself and others. Yvonne got the opportunity to go back to school in 1996 where she attended Cite Business School and received training in the administrative field. In 1997 after receiving the highest honors in her class she got a job at CBH. CBH was her second family and she always talked about her coworkers with love and affection. She loved sports and was a die hard Eagles fan. In 2018 she was diagnosed with cancer but didn't let that stop her from enjoying life. She never gave up hope. She was a great story teller and was the funniest and wittest person to know. She could make you laugh on your downest days and would come up with jokes like you wouldn't believe. Yvonne enjoyed and loved being around her family, her sister Pam was also her best friend and together they were known as "The Golden Girls". She also loved and adored her grand babies. She is survived by her daughters Kim and Heather one sister Pam and two brothers Ronald and Lionel and host of nieces and nephews.
