James P. Waters Jr., age 83, of Warminster, PA slipped into his eternal rest on Monday, August 16 th, 2021 at Abington Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Jim was born on June 25 th, 1938 to the late James Waters and Gertrude Waters (McElhatton) and grew up in Philadelphia. He graduated from LaSalle College High School in 1956 and LaSalle College in 1960. James married Eileen Beyer on May 1, 1965. He received his MBA from Michigan State University in 1967, while later that year he began a tour of duty in Vietnam.

James began his career in the Air Force which spanned over two decades. It had the family criss-crossing the US with even a stint in Iran. In 1981 he began working as the controller for Abington School District and retired 29 years later. He was a member of AOH Sean MacBride Division, KOC Fr. Gallen Council 5494, MOAA – Willow Grove, Jenkintown Rotary, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees Montgomery County Chapter, and American Legion Post #798. His contributions via the Area Agency on Aging (Apprise) were valued and appreciated by many. Jim was a faithful member of Nativity of Our Lord parish for over 40 years.

Surviving James are his devoted wife of 56 years, Eileen, and children James (Caroline), Melissa (Donald), and Patricia (Robert) and grandchildren Sean, Brenna, Connor, Aislinn, and Rowan. In addition he is survived by his cousins Sally McDevitt (Michael) and Betty Ann Bickhart and his sister-in-law Kathy Walters (Beyer) and brother-in-law Leslie Walters.

The viewing will be held at Decker Givnish Funeral Home (216 York Rd., Warminster, Pa.) Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 7-9 PM. On Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Nativity of Our Lord Church (605 W. Street Rd., Warminster, Pa.) a viewing will be held at 10:30 AM followed by Mass at 11:30 AM. The burial will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Rd., Newtown, Pa.) at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, PO Box 301, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0301 or the Ronald McDonald House, 3925 Chestnut St., Phila., Pa. 19104.
